Don't Let Them Deceive You

I came across a video on Yahoo that reminded me of just how much deception there is going on out there, and how much it's been growing, and I'd like to address it. Apparently, there's a text that is supposedly the story of the three wise men. It's one of the so-called lost books of the Bible. It's been hidden away for a long time and has just recently been released and translated into English for anyone who wants to read it.

I've never really put much stock - or any stock - in these texts, but I do find it interesting to hear what people have to say about them, and what they're apparently teaching. I especially find it interesting when it is something that hits the mainstream media in any way. When I clicked the video (to have it going in the background while I went about other things), something caught my attention. It was when they started talking about the star of Bethlehem, and how it differed in this version from what we read about in the Bible itself. They said, in this version, there's more detail to this star and that within the star there was a person. Instead of the typical star that we envision, they referred to it as a "star child". This term in itself immediately raised red flags for me because the notion of a "star child" or "star children" is a concept that's taught within the New Age movement.

They continued to talk about this, saying that this star child spoke to the three wise men, and that the star child was Jesus. It went on to say that He (Jesus) had been born numerous times before, and elaborated by saying that He was born into all the earth's religions, and that there is no relgion that isn't Christianity on some level. This, in itself, is outright deception. This is a lie. Do NOT be deceived. There's been a push in recent years to teach that all ways a person might choose to find God are valid, and that each approach is simply a different path to the same thing. Despite how good this may sound to a lot of people out there, it's simply not true. Jesus taught of the Narrow Path that few would find, not many paths that we could take our pick from.

Like I said, there's a great push out there to deceive people. Personally, I believe it's the beginning of the great deception that is mentioned in the Bible. Do not let them deceive you! Remember, salvation is in Jesus Christ, and in Him alone, not through anyone or anything else, but in Jesus Christ alone. He came to make His sacrifice on the Cross and then rise again on the third day. There's no need for Him to come back again and again. When He came, it was a way for Him to provide a way for our salvation, and when He comes again it won't be by Him being born again on the earth.

Guard your heart, guard your mind. Test everything that anyone puts out there - any teachings, any so-called "hidden truths" - test it and only accept it if it's confirmed to you through the scriptures and through prayer. God bless you guys.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. ~ Matthew 24:23 (KJV)

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. ~ Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)
